Committee Meeting January 17th, 2010

Committee meeting was held on January 17 at 1:30 p.m. in the Dumfries Fire Hall.

• Agenda reviewed by Ken Donald.

• Wayne moved that the minutes of the November 22 meeting be approved.  Steven seconded the move.  Motion carried.

• Update on status of association –

Jacques reported that Davidson Lake Association Inc. was incorporated by Letters Patent dated December 2, 2009.   The Business Number is 836238667NP0001 and the Reference Number is 648028.

3 Directors will have signing authority for the corporation until the first general meeting of all members.

• Review of By-laws –

The Committee reviewed the first draft of the by-laws, making minor amendments.  It was agreed that the Directors would define membership and report back at the next meeting.

• Snowplowing of lake roads –

No major problems, but could use more sand than the amount that has been put on recently.

• Review  content of website –

Ken suggested that the minutes of our meetings be posted on the site. As the community newsletter “The Dumfriesian” is no longer in existence, Ken will contact Gail Taylor to see if they wish to consider putting together a newsletter which could be posted on our website.

• Update on Mill –

Ken received an email from Don Murray, Dept. of Environment (copy attached).  He suggested that the contact numbers should be posted on our website.

Ken Slater, the Manager at AV Nackawic and Hercules Georgiadis, the Environmental Engineer would like to come to one of our meetings.  Simon Mitchell, Chairman of the LSD, would also like to have an open meeting.  It was felt that these 2 meetings could be combined.

• Next meeting – Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at the Dumfries Fire Hall.
